Knowledge Rally! – 4° Elementary

What a joy it is to share with our school community the success of last week’s “Knowledge Rally”, a special event designed and led by our outstanding 4th grade teachers, Mr. Eduardo “Lalo” Díaz (in charge of groups 4°C and 4°D) and Ms. María del Pilar “Pily” Eraña (in charge of 4°A and 4°B).

Held in our Fray Luis de León Auditorium, the rally brought together students and their parents in a morning full of excitement, collaboration, and meaningful English practice.

The dynamic was simple yet powerful: mixed teams, identified by colors, moved through five different stations, each supervised by teachers and members of our English Department. From solving puzzles and forming sentences in various verb tenses to identifying body parts in English, every activity encouraged quick thinking, communication, and teamwork—in English, of course!

One of the most fun aspects was watching parents and children work side by side. Many parents shared how surprised and proud they felt to see their children confidently using English to solve problems, give instructions, and encourage their teammates. In several rounds, it was the parents themselves who jumped in with their own knowledge, making it a true family learning experience.

Laughter, encouragement, and a strong sense of achievement filled the room throughout the four separate sessions—one for each homeroom group. In each round, students demonstrated noticeable progress in their language skills, not only in vocabulary but also in their ability to collaborate under gentle time pressure.

To close each session, teachers Lalo and Pily gathered students and parents in a warm recognition circle, where every child received praise for their effort and teamwork. Group photos captured the joyful memories, and every session ended with spirited applause for our bright young learners.

As English Coordinator, Leticia González would like to extend the deepest gratitude to Mr. Lalo Díaz and Ms. Pily Eraña for their creativity, passion, and dedication in organizing such an enriching event. Thanks as well to all the teachers and staff who supported each station, and of course, to the wonderful families who joined us with such enthusiasm.

Events like the Knowledge Rally remind us that language learning goes far beyond the classroom—it lives in communication, in play, and in the bonds we build together.

We look forward to more community activities that celebrate growth, teamwork, and the joy of learning English at Colegio Fray Luis de León.
