On June 14th, the Santo Tomás Auditorium was transformed into a courtroom of chaos, laughter, and unexpected verdicts. Our 6th grade students, under the creative guidance of Teachers Magda and Ale, presented “Guilty Ever After” — an innovative English project that turned classic fairytales upside down. ⚖️🐺
Imagine this: the Big Bad Wolf, finally given a voice to defend himself against years of moral condemnation — just because he was hungry in the woods. Captain Hook, pointing an accusatory finger at Peter Pan and the Lost Boys for crimes against his property. Snow White, demanding justice in court after a poisoned apple turned her life upside down. These are the voices we heard in this bizarre, hilarious, and utterly captivating demonstration of language and creativity.
On stage, a judge sat at the center, presiding over the chaos. On one side, the accused; on the other, the accusers. Students delivered their arguments in clear, confident English, presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and debating the moral dilemmas of beloved characters. The audience — parents, teachers, and fellow students — watched in amazement as fairytale characters found themselves in situations they had never faced before.
But here is the twist: parents were not just spectators — they were members of the jury. Yes! Families were invited to weigh the evidence, listen to both sides, and deliver their verdicts. And the results were nothing short of surprising. Captain Hook declared innocent? The Big Bad Wolf awarded compensation for emotional damage by Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother? These were the unexpected outcomes that made the morning unforgettable.
What made this project truly special was the level of speaking proficiency, confidence, and creativity demonstrated by each student. They embodied their characters with energy, humor, and a deep understanding of their roles. Parents left with smiles, proud to see how far their children have come in their English journey.
We extend our gratitude to Teachers Magda and Ale for their vision and dedication, and to English Coordinator Leticia González and Auxiliar Teacher Iván Valdés for ensuring the event ran smoothly behind the scenes.
“Guilty Ever After” reminded us that learning English is not just about grammar and vocabulary — it is about expression, imagination, and the courage to step into new roles, even if they belong to a wolf, a pirate, or a princess.
We are proud of our 6th graders — you made us laugh, think, and believe in the power of a good story. 💚
