Gratitude That Unites Us

Gratitude That Unites Us

Our Jr High students experienced a deep and meaningful Thanksgiving celebration this year. In a very special moment of reflection, students had the opportunity to share different aspects of their lives for which they feel truly grateful. Many spoke about their families, friendships, health, opportunities, teachers, and the blessings God places around them every day.

Inspired by our Augustinian values, students were encouraged to look within, recognize the good in their lives, and appreciate the importance of community. As Saint Augustine teaches us, gratitude begins in the heart, and it grows when we share it with others.

After their reflections, the entire Jr. High section worked collaboratively—not just in small groups, but as one united community—to create a powerful and symbolic activity. Using images that represented thankfulness in their own lives. Every picture told a story: moments of joy, achievements, faith, family, friendship, and experiences that shape who they are.

The result was a beautiful visual reminder of how blessed we are and how important it is to value what God gives us every day. This activity highlighted unity, creativity, and the spirit of gratitude that characterizes our Augustinian Recollect identity.

It was a heartfelt celebration that invited our students to grow not only academically, but also spiritually and personally—living gratitude as a daily habit and not just a once-a-year tradition.
