On May 7th, the library of our Elementary Section became a cozy and magical space where stories came to life. Our 3° grade students, together with their families and dedicated teachers, gathered for the “Little Readers Club” — a heartwarming event that celebrated the joy of reading in English. 📚✨
The event was led by Teacher Ale Valdés, in charge of groups 3°A and 3°B, and Teacher Mariana Cedillo, in charge of 3°C. With enthusiasm and care, they welcomed students and parents into an atmosphere filled with imagination, learning, and shared discovery.
The afternoon began with stories read aloud by the students themselves. From classic fables to beloved tales, each young reader stepped forward with confidence, demonstrating not only their growing English skills but also their love for storytelling. Parents watched with pride as their children pronounced new words, understood complex sentences, and expressed emotions through a second language.
After the readings, families continued the experience together, using fanzines created especially for the event. In small teams — parents and children side by side — they explored additional stories, practiced reading aloud, and shared moments of genuine connection. It was a beautiful reminder that learning happens best when school and family walk together.
Throughout the event, teachers Ale Valdés and Mariana Cedillo greeted each family with warmth, answered questions, and celebrated every small victory of their students. Their passion for teaching and commitment to creating meaningful experiences was evident in every detail.
We were also honored to have Teacher Leticia González Mundo, English Coordinator, present to support our teachers and witness the wonderful progress of our elementary students. Her presence is always a symbol of the collaborative and caring spirit that defines our English program.
The Little Readers Club was more than an academic showcase. It was a celebration of effort, growth, and the love of reading. Our 3° grade students proved that at Colegio Fray Luis de León, learning English is not just about grammar and vocabulary — it is about opening doors to new worlds, one story at a time.
We thank the families for their enthusiastic participation, and we congratulate our students and teachers for making this event an unforgettable memory.
